Not a typical 68 Charger

Yeah, that is still a thought in my head to go that stepped look. If the fender does not turn out good I might explore that style. If so I might need to take you up on the fenders.

Finally had some time to work on this project. The wheel flare look was not looking too promising so I went with a widebody instead. Helps keep some of the original look. It went pretty well for someone who does not have too much sheet metal shaping beyond breaking and bead rolling. I ended up raising the opening about 2.250 as the call sit lower than this so the higher opening is needed for clearance at full lock.

That is some interesting fab work. Have you heard of the '68 Charger widebody that was named "Maximus?" It was used in the end of one of the Fast and Furious movies...

I am not positive but I thought it was widened almost 3 inches per side.

Unpainted too. What you see is clearcoated bare metal.

That car from NRE is sweet and way above my metal work capabilities.

It runs now. Had a couple ground wires I did not connect as I did not think they were controlling grounds for anything besides lights. Sitting on its wheels now and might be ready for a spin around the block when I get my front seats back from upholstery. I can’t link a quick vid of it running

Please share this on the Facebook Hellcat Swap group.

This is the most interesting build I’ve seen and would love to see a video of it driving.

Got it on the ground. Needs a little less rear spacer and a stiffer rear spring. The rear ride height is close and the front is a little high.

sorry, I do not have Facebook.

OMG! How do you survive without FaceBag?
The front will probably drop down some once you have all of the pieces on. Hood, grille, bumper etc.

A little over half done with roughing out the bodywork. Going to wrap it at some point.

Got the bodywork roughed out good enough for now. Got to take it for a couple test spins over thanksgiving. The intercooler pump is not working and a replacement is on the way. This thing is super fun and quick with the AWD.
