Hi folks, the welcome email suggested a post...so ah...here I am :)

As of 3 weeks ago, I'm the lucky recipient of a mostly original 69 Super Bee w/ 383 & 3 speed auto. I'm fairly handy with modern cars and have been a life long fan of WRC and the fun junk that comes with it. I've never considered myself a muscle car or classic car kinda guy so this is a whole new ball game.

The car arrived not starting reliably or charging the battery as well as running eye-wateringly rich. Since then, I've crash-coursed on carburetors and the electrical system - now have the starting and charging issue sorted (the bulkhead connector is melted, ammeter is shot, and there's massive voltage drop in the original wiring...it's running on the digi_d splice-n-dice special right now but all new wiring will be one of the first larger projects). It's running significantly less rich now but still getting a solid 4 MPG...more work to do there.

Beyond that, most of the gauges don't work, the transmission has trouble shifting into drive from neutral (but not from second as it were), the brakes are mad spongey, the water pump rattles like a bottle of spray paint, there's a major oil leak near the back of the engine/front of the transmission, a slight coolant leak, the heater core is disconnected, none of the interior buttons and levers work, and I'm purposely ignoring a ticking sound that raises my blood pressure......but I did replace the air filter :bananaweed:

It's been a blast digging into the car and learning all about it. This forum as been an indispensable resource as I drink from the fire-hose of knowledge out there. Thanks yall!

Nice looking day 2 Bee

welcome to FBBO from NorCal Sierras

Welcome aboard from Ohio. Hey, it’s just a little work!

Good Looking Bee, Sounds like you have some automotive background so you'll get it sorted out... Wiring wise IMO there are two good options...

OE Style wiring is reproduced by M&H and sold by Year One ...

Or, if your looking at a more modern approach I suggest American Auto Wire.... Their stuff isn't the cheapest but they actually look at the quirks of Mopar vehicles and tailor their kits to solve the problems caused when installing most of the modern kits...

Welcome from Alabama, beautiful Bee. Sounds like harnesses will solve most of your electrical issues. Then some gaskets, water pump, and possibly a heater core to get it safe.
