Hey all, Anyone have an idea on what the letter "S" means on the back of the OER reproduction Tic Toc Tach mean and what hooks up to it? Also what hooks up the the terminal with the +? Does the go to the fuse box? Thanks, Dave

I think it means attach to switched power.

Here is a pic of an original and how it hooks up. I would think the repro would be the same way.

Thank you texas69bee that was exactly the kind of picture I was looking for! Where does the gray w/red and blue wire hookup to? I know the connector on the outside goes to the fuse box for the light or clock I do believe and I'm pretty sure that the grey w/red goes to - side of coil.

Blue is power from the switched side of the fuse box, grey w/red tracer is negative side of coil, the one with the finger is the lamp.

The gray wire in the pic that's in his hand is the clock hot wire. The lamp wires are orange.

Very true thanks, its been a while since I've had mine out.

So, I was able to hook up the clock with the factory existing connector and it works. But I was under the impression that
these reproduction clocks were quartz and had a continuous second hand movement, mine has the pause after each click just like the originals were. I hope that doesn't mean that they have not been setup for electronic ignition! Any comments on this?

Remove the housing on the back of the tach and post pic of the circuit board.

I was informed after I bought one that they are not set up for electronic ignition. You will need to get a tach adapter in order for it to function correctly with electronic ignition.

That's BULL! Maybe they should clarify that on there description a little better from now on!! Now I have to spend
what, $40.00 more, should have bought a Charger Specialties tach at least they tell you in the description that there
tachs are compatible with electronic ignition!!! Let me re-phrase that, I should have done my homework better and looked into this before buying. Now I wil lbe bying the conversion kit to convert the electronics. Anyone know if someone will be up at the Mopat Nats. this weekend that carries them? Thanks, Dave

Quartz movement will always tick. Mechanical movement is the one that "sweeps." well, regarding wristwatches anyways. im assuming it applies here as well.

I wouldnt think the points vs elec ignition would make a difference in the clock's movement. If it's quartz, it's quartz.

Mine is converted to quartz with continuous movement.
