do you change your own oil and filter, or do you take to your local mechanic to have done?
pro's and con's.

Same here. No one handles or cares for a vehicle like an owner does. No one touches my modern Mopar either for oil changes. Except me.I do it myself on all vehicles, that way I know the drain plug will not come loose afterwards...... as it did once years ago when some grease monkey did it!
I'll try that.Dennis H. Depends on location of the filter but you can punch a hole in it with a center punch and let it drain. I have my wife take her van in to get the oil changed cuz I'm too busy and it's cheaper to have it done. You just need to ask what filters and oil they are using.
Wear gloves. Anyone figure out how to keep the crossmember clean when spinning the filter, let me know. Tried bagging the filter, all kinds of stuff.
