Originally a 318 poly car.
I am using the Schumacher motor mount adapters.
The engine is a 74 440.
Which stock oil pan and pick up tube will work with this combo?
I acquired a deep Miloden pan with the block, but it might be too big and drag the street.

A pan for 413 will fit may have to grind a notch in the K member to clear the right front corner of pan.

You'll be a lot happier if you trim the k member 2" forward. Unless your sure the oil pan never has to come off in the car.

Big Block Mopar Road Race Pan #31580

383-440 ROAD RACE or PRO TOURING STREET CAR

A stock location sump pan designed for use in a B or E body stock Chrysler chassis where maximum ground clearance is required without sacrificing performance. Wide sump increases capacity and allows ample ground clearance. The highly effective trap door system provides100% oil control. This results in consistent oil pressure under heavy acceleration and in & out of the corners, as well as increases power output. Has 1/2" pipe fitting for an oil temp sender. Fits 383-440 engines. Stock steering will not interfere with this pan.

Pan Capacity is 7 Quarts Plus Filter - 5 1/2" Sump Depth

383-440 Wedge and Hemi

finding stock pans for the early b-bodies has become expensive and troublesome. i made my own pan; which was troublesome but cheap. the engine i'm putting together now will use the road race pan. fitting the road race pan, pick-up, and windage tray is little work.

Thanks for this! I'll be going through the same thing at some point this year.

Doug, I've seen this done before...nice work btw. I'm curious how so much of the k frame can be removed without sacrificing it's strength or integrity.

That's why I box it. Works well on my 150 mph drag car, plenty of wheelies with no change in alignment.

I am using a 66/69 Hemi oil pan had to modify my K frame. Can take the pan off with the engine in the car. Also made a 66 style skid plate looks "almost" factory.image (5).jpg005 (3).jpg

Excellent advice and thanks for all the pictures. I have Milodon pan, but have no idea what # it is. Maybe there is a # stamped on it. I aquirred a couple stock style pans for mods if needed and I did get a BB K member with the car. Lots of option, thanks for all your responses!
