Old Glass and New Glass advice

New 68-70 charger windshield really fit poorly I just helped put it in for friend...all modern glass is Chinese , wavy, poor fit and not impressive.

I can only say the new ppg glass in the 80s was hit and miss for clarity or diffraction if you will. I had one replaced with PPG on my 68 gtx and it was that way. Original is best, but is almost never nice enough to use with nice paint.

Call ECS and order their glass. they will etch and mark the new glass exactly like the originals ( since you have it all for reference). you won't be disappointed!

Bought my windshield (70RR conv) in 2011 from AMD. Don't know how many times they've changed sources since then, but it fit perfect and looks new today. More recently I bought conv side glass, driver & qtr, from Auto City Classic (no one else carries B body conv side glass). Their glass is made in Taiwan. Their side glass pieces were a perfect match to my OE side glass, without the 50yrs of wear and scratches. Can't speak to their hardtop glass, but if anyone is looking for glass, they might be worth a try.

I rented a new voyager van for our family vacation and I’m now saying I’ll eat some crow on this but hey it is what is. The windshield is made in Canada! With the other mopar logos! I was glad to see it as safety glass is really almost structural now a days. On old cars the glass may not break up or hold together properly due to the lamination letting go. Quality starts with us! We have to stand up for it, demand it! We already pay for it!

A good detailer may be able to polish the glass. I've done it, very labor intensive. (I actually detailed that Corvette during a course in the Autogeek shop)
