Judging by pictures this hone is from 1920’s
Price on box says $40. Which was a lot of money back than. That’s good old American tooling

I have a Sunnen Boring tool like that. I bought it at an auction and the old boy selling said his Dad used it with Model T's.
He used a 3/4 drill suspended from a tree branch to hold the weight. He could move it up and down easier with the branch assist.
I used it to hone a motor and the fool thing took a lot more material than I had planned.
 
I had or may still have one for doing in frame on planes it has long flexable cable . belive it is from the 20s or 30s , bought it at flea market , was his grandfathers . he was plane mech . never used it . heavey as hell .
