Just can't get a break, always something, just like last time have to clearance the pick up tube some to get the rod end to clear it near the oil boss. Having freind do the work and he has already destroyed the new pick up designed to go with the new oil pan,

now we have to try to use the old pick up with a shorter pan. What have you guys done?

6 qt hemi pan on a 440 with windage tray, 1/2" pick up 5"

Funny you should ask. I have a 383 with a stock 402 oil pan and they don't sell a stock pick up tube to fit. It looks like a stock but it is a cut to fit and bend. My tube is 3/8 with npt threads. I found the area where it rises(most vertical) then cut that in 1/2, threaded both ends with a 3/8 die, ground to fit and reconnected with a brass fitting. If you need a pic let me know.

Good choice of fixes, I was able to fix the messed up threads and then keep then safe wile dimpling the tube in a certain spot for clearance, works great now, disaster averted.
