My 67 gas gauge doesn't work, I learned a while ago to always hit the gas station as a first stop, and no floorboard driving until feeding it!Nothing worse than having to call the wife to fetch the lawnmower can....

Been there. I ran out of gas while sitting at the light waiting to make a left turn in to the gas station. LOL Fixed the gas gauge. Good to go now.

Nice... but yeah, it sucks to run out of gas when you have a bitchin' car!

I think what's worse than running out of gas is the guy I stopped to help who thought he was out of gas. It was about to pour down rain, and he was walking up the ramp towards the gas station. I lived in the neighborhood so I thought I'd stop and help.

No gas can at the station, so I told him I had a small can for my mower, and would grab it. Put a whole gallon in it and took him to his car. Still wouldn't start. So he asked if we could get another gallon, and I took him. Still wouldn't start. Then I looked at his gauge and it was at 1/4 full. All that time I wasted... he wasn't out of gas, his car broke down and had to be towed!

I should have looked at his gas gauge the first time, there's no way 2 gallons would give him more than 1/4 tank on a larger car like his.
