The guys at Gas Monkey Garage and The Discovery Channel are getting a little too used to Chebies and Fords.

In last night's show, two German tourists who bought cars to drive around the states in took their cars to the garage to dump them, and two of the guys bought them for $100 each. One was a Studebaker, but the second was a 73/74 Satellite sedan.

When Rawlings showed up, he called the Plymouth a 78 Satellite, and The Discovery Channel folks put up an image of a 73/74 Satellite Sedan with a 1978 label. FOUL!

how can you people even watch those reality shows....? kick in the nuts is less painful that the BS endured on a reality show..

yeah he gets years wrong allot, just entertainment, not a documentary...

Discovery doesn't do enough research either, to correct the errors...

I got a kick out of that but yet when Aaron called the 68 gt350 a 69... he was corrected instantly by Richard.... I have to admit, that is one of the better of the reality car shows... except the d100 with a ford front end and a chevy motor... for $50k... I think not.. Although, the big block draggin wagon with the blower was kinda cool... even for a chevy!

I may be wrong, but I thought I read somewhere once that all gt 350 and gt 500's were 4-speeds? their 68 was an auto.. like I said, I may be wrong, but then again.. discovery channel did find that 78 satellite..

I thought all the Hertz Mustangs were gold, but I guess not.

There are three shows I never miss: The Walking Dead, Sleepy Hollow, and Fast & Loud. I really like Fast & Loud because it's the only reality show that actually shows reality: projects go over budget, delivery dates slide, fires break out, engines go bad, parts don't fit, and sales goals are missed. There's no sugar-coating the business in that show.

i also look forward to Fast N Loud. BUT
they started adding the "stupid stuff" for horseplay and Aaron at the blackboard. That turns me off
of the show. They did it on the Velocity channel before i dumped it cause they really added a lot of
how to build weapons and dinasaurs, and other junk programs. I have to pay extra $10 pr month to watch car shows
that are no longer on.

Speed Channel used to be good also, till Fox bought them out. Now even Pass Time is by the wayside...
.
Try out the NBC show " The Car Chasers" it might be a good one till they get stupid with camera tricks
but till then, i look for that one too

F&L is not terrible.

I can take it or leave it.

Obviously, the main character is only in it for a hobby, and the cash is disposable.

Their knowledge seems to be limited, at least from my perspective, and their judgment seems questionable as far as investment and return are concerned...

...but none the less, if I had the means to do that (more so than I do already), YBYA I sure would.

I watch any and all of these shows for pure entertainment value that's it I don't care what they say I'm just entertained, just like those Spike channel power block shows DIY type shows yes but when they say affordable [choke] and you can do this in your garage [bulls--t], they forget some/most of us don't have an unlimited bank account.

Look on the bright side. They could bring back "are you faster than a redneck"

Between the corny drama and the arbitrary budgets and deadlines I find most of those shows impossible to watch. Too bad there isn't at least one that's a true documentary. Most of us car guys would probably enjoy that.

.......I've been to their shop a few times, as I live fairly close, and they are pretty nice dudes, but clearly cars are a business for them....and accuracy is not in the volume.

The Mustangs were black with gold stripes but a few were painted white with blue stripes.

I tried to watch Counting Cars last night. I could only stand about 2 minutes of the ADHD camera guy playing with the zoom. inoutinoutininoutoutinoutoutin

Yeah, that production stuff is a bit much. My only other gripe with the show is their painter keeps trying to interject himself into everything like he's trying to get his own show.

I do think the show makes an excellent contrast to Graveyard Carz. In F&L the owner and employees bust on each other a lot, but always in each others' presence, which is the way it should be. You don't see Rawlings going into his office and doing one on ones where he calls his employees incompetent, thieves, know nothings, etc. I also like scenes like in the T-Bird build where Arron flew off the handle and was pissed because a lot of work he had expected to be done didn't, then took time the next day to admit he had flown off the handle for the wrong reasons and say he had been wrong to do it. You don't see that in many of these shows. Most of them are driven by real or fake drama, and you never hear someone say he was wrong for creating drama when there shouldn't have been any. That's refreshing.

Plus how funny was it when Richard was screwing with Christie by threatening to hire the no experience bimbo as an accountant? :) I lost it when she said "I don't need another babysitting project to deal with, I have you."

I hope he hired her, for the Gas Monkey restaurant... she had great assets....LOL...
