I'm trying to decide whether to clean up the originals or just order some reproductions (1969 RR). The originals have no major damage, but lots of black goo to clean off of the rear (someone's failed attempt at stopping the leaks through the rust holes), as well as several dings, and they are in desparate need of a good polish.

Does anyone have any experience with the reproduction moldings? Fit/finish?

I imagine that all of the dealers are getting them from the same place, no? If not, or if unknown, who's is supposed to be selling the best?

Thanks.

I'd definitely recommend reconditioning the OEM trim. Better quality & fit, not that hard to refurbish....just very time consuming, but rewarding. Lotta Chrome/Specialty Coating shops also do it, if you're not up to the task.

OK, so looking at the additional option of having someone else refurb the originals, are there any recommendations for someone who is known to do good work?
