While working on my 63 Sport Fury Max Wedge convertible I found large orange markings on the leaf springs. The springs each have 8 leafs and the same part number stamped on them, 2403524.
I think the 4 digit number stamped on the springs is the build date. 2004 = 200th day of 1962 or Thursday, July 9th 1962 and 2642 =Friday, Sept. 21st 1962. My car was assembled on Oct. 31, 1962.

Has anyone seen the orange markings or this part number on HP springs? Any info is appreciated. Jim in Napa

I have seen that part number referenced for 1964. I have never seen an orange factory mark like that on any springs...However, that does not mean I am 100% correct either.

I got to talk to Greg Lane from Max Wedge.com and he told me the rear axle was moved forward 1 inch on Max Wedge and Hemi cars for 1964. I checked the length of the springs from the center alinement bolt to the front bushing and its the same as the springs on my 63 Belvedere parts car. So as usual, I'm confused.
