I plan on making an aircraft cable tether to keep mine with the car. I have tons of the stuff from hanging light fixtures in Kroger stores.. Lots of waste from cutting the cables. It works for various projects.
R413's Post #17 say it short sweet.

The cost of the Belvedere 2 caps you need to tether them to the car. Maybe hook up something that will sound a horn if gas cap is removed. Need an on/off switch.
What happened to the option of sending private messages ???? It does not appear anymore when you click on a posters registered name. There’s a bolt dead center in the cap (for changing the rubber seal) I’ll use a cable or small chain attached from it down into the filler tube. I’ll probably use the #2 cap to drive around then the NOS one at shows. Anybody touches it will have a broken arm.!

They were high theft items a few years after production.

On the subject of tethering.....
if someone trys to steal the cap they may not be aware its tethered. They uncouple the cap and it slams into the body causing a paint chip or worse.

My emblem fell off the faux center piece for the passenger side.. I drilled out the emblem and used a small tap and threaded some bolts into it from the reverse side. Also put red lock tight on it so it wouldn't work loose.

my buddy found the one I have in NC junkyard funny couldn't find one at mopar nats or any junkyard around me and wasn't going to pay ebay for an incorrect one which look a lot like a bodies
