Original B-Body Mufflers

Just an FYI, as shown. the 64 and earlier and maybe 65 mufflers do not have the squashed corners like 66 thru 70

I can add these photos of a Sono X-6 muffler dated 10-64. No country of manufacturing is seen.
It came from a C-body guy. I have wondered what model it’s from and if the rust could be eliminated.

I think those were upgrade parts dept. mufflers, not stock, I have 2 Sono4x in the boxes. I could be wrong though.

I've been checking with lots of folks and not having much luck in finding original mufflers to confirm the embossing. I'll be at MCACN this weekend and maybe some original cars will show up there.

Scott, I was there at the MCACN with the Humbler VOE 1970 GTO; we were displaying our cutaway VOE muffler along with the former President of one off the big USA muffler suppliers. His group, Oldberg, supplied MOPAR and GM factory mufflers in the 60s. He may be able to provide some more info. This is an original 1966 dated B-Body muffler. The format/placement/information is different than 1968 and later dated known original examples. Does anyone else have any original examples for 1966, 1967, and 1968 that they could share?

I'm trying to determine if 1968 and earlier assembly line mufflers used the same embossing format as later years. If anyone has examples/photos of B-Body mufflers with 1968 production year and earlier dates I'd appreciate if you could post a photo here.

Hi Scott! Thought I would post the photo, that I previously sent via text, of the factory original '68 HEMI resonator from my friend's orig. car. Hope you can start making '68 HEMI systems ASAP This date code is the 244th day of '67, for a '68 HEMI Charger.
