I bought a package tray from classic and it did not come with the mounting clips or the retainers for the clips. And I'm worried about it moving around after installation. Has anybody got experiance with this? I sure could use a hint or twenty.

Thank You

Not sure about the clips but you might try the thick foam double back tape to hold it in place. Or if you don't mind the temporary smell of fish and chips you can use RTV.

the clips......are they the 2 pieces of metal bent at a 90 degree angle that holds the package tray and the back seat piece of cardboard????? why cant ya make some? all ya need is a vise...a drill....and a piece of stiff metal...maybe some paint. thats all that is holding mine in (70 RR). i used clear silicone to keep the rubber piece that goes against the window in place, and it dont smell like fish.......all this applies if we are talking about the same thing .

We got ours from Classic too. I had no idea there were suppose to be clips holding it down. Ours is a '69 Belvedere and the seat holds it down very well for us.

Yes they are clips poped in to flat plates. The factory had some way of poping on those plates then then opening up these little points that dig in to the fiber board it self with out going through the fiber.
They must have done it before the finish was applied. Those danged little points are actually bent, say lika an old fashioned can opener would do to a can. I could drill and use some sort of plastic door panel push in retainer. But I seriously do not want to mar the surface. If I cant find a way to recreate those. I'll probably end up with a double sided sticky tape.

I have to admit though I love the smell of WD40 in the morning and that goes for RTV too.
:pimp_daddy: Maybe I can market WD40 scented little pine trees that you can hang from the rear view mirror :pimp_daddy:
