Anybody know of a polishing type compound that will help fill in small dents in paint. I knocked over my stand lights onto my car and they bounced off the front nose. It put small dents in the paint without cracking. I tried buffing with ultimate compound but didn’t help. I didn’t want to get too aggressive. It’s hardly noticeable but it’s noticeable to me and my OCD.

Think about what you're trying to achieve here. You want to remove the 'dent' in the paint and level it, so you're gonna need to get the paint to the same level, which would be the lowest level. The only way to do that is to remove paint, so wet sanding would be your best option to level the paint. Other options are to repaint or just live with it.

Some paint less dent repair guys will work on an old car but many won’t for fear of a non-OEM paint cracking or just not wanting to deal with older, thicker sheet metal. But if the paint wasn’t damaged it might be worthwhile to ask around about one as a good one can do amazing work.

A good PDR guy can get it out as long as there’s access to the back side. They can glue pull too, but there’s a risk of pulling paint if there’s poor adhesion…

The one on the left is not going to polish out. The right side of the pic , those prob would with some wet sanding depending on how much clear is on it.
