Painted roof? Rare?

I have owned a 68 gtx for 17 years and now Im ready to start rebuilding it! It has only 22,000 miles and I know the retired state patrol officer that bought it brand new. He had to have it because it is white with a painted met. blue roof. Is this rare? What is the code that should be on the build sheet? Im 52 and been around B bodies my whole life and never seen this from the factory.:headbang:

I had a 69 GTX. Silver with black painted top and lowers.

im not sure if this applies to B bodies but VO2 is the option for two tone paint for A bodies thats what my dart has. its a quad green car.

Two tones are not common. Probably something like 3% or less of total production. On the top line of the BS under Paint and Style 27-29 look for two different letters and the number 2. It will be something like EW2

For a Plymouth of that year if you have no codes stating two tone paint,it may have been done at the dealer. For Dodge starting in 67 They had the white hat special campaign. Some came with a factory painted top, some vinyl. We painted lots of them at the dealership and not only white. Customers would see them and say "I want this car but I want a roof that color''.Does it have the chrome strips dividing the roof from the quarter pannel ?

Yes it does have the crome molding. Also on the build sheet what I can read under paint & style is ...UU..1..U

That would indicate a solid color car (1) with the roof and the body painted the U code. Sorry, not a two tone.
