It seems like every time I buy something from a member here they make it a point to tell me they only do PayPal friends and family, otherwise send me a money order etc. Is there a time that you can’t use friends and family on PayPal? I always use friends and family and never have a problem.

I'm the opposite. I always demand buyers send me funds via merchandise, do I can use paypals netparcel discount shipping system.

I'm pretty well known on these web sites, and when i give someone a quote on parts and the shipping, i give them the price total for Friends or Family, and a quote for Goods and Services, as Pay Pal's service fees would be deducted from my sale price.
Then in the end, it's really up to the buyer how they prefer to pay their seller. (me)

But why would a buyer ever use goods and services?

You meant added to the sales price right?
Lets say i sell something at an even $100.00 dollars.
Pay Pal fees are at 4%, so if someone pays me thru Goods or Services, Pay Pal will deduct $4.00 from me and only put $96.00 into my account.
Then i give a quote at $104.00 on a Goods or Services payment, and that way i get my even $100.00 on the sale of the part.
There are no Pay Pal fees on a Friends or Family payment.

I get it. The way it was worded I thought you were charging the buyer $96 and not $104. But why would a buyer ever choose to use goods or services, instead of friends and family? That’s my initial question.

I *cringe* at F&F and the account is relative of the seller and not the seller themself.

I was told when you use Friends and Family if there is a scam or problem, you have NO recourse. You just loose, where as not used, you do have a right of redress. Is that correct?

You get buyer protection, F&F there’s no protection if the seller stiffs you.

If the seller is unknown or a potential scammer you have protection on the transaction using goods and services. On a $650 deal it’s another $26 in fees for the buyer.

Use pirate ship it’s 25-50% of what all major shipping companies charge goes through whatever carrier you choose and it’s FREE.

Yeah, when I saw an ammo website and the prices seemed a little too good. Unfortunately I didn't do a "scam search" until just after I sent the funds, Friends & Family payment only, no credit cards, etc should have been enough red flags, but the "reason" was their low prices cut margins and so...
That's been 4 years or more. The only time I got scammed, but man! was I pissed. At them for being despicable thieves, but more at myself for falling for it :BangHead:
They must have been very certain they weren't leaving any "bread crumbs" because ripping off people BUYING AMMO is really dangerous otherwise.

I stated why in my first post. Print a shipping label right out of PayPal using the Netparcel system. Discounted rate to boot. I've shipped around the world on it at HIGHLY discounted rates.

Do you have to pay for that service? I’m not a seller on eBay so I’m not familiar.

I think we’re good Brett.
I know. Thanks. Thats the deal it is just fees or no fees and who pays for them. It’s why the feedback system here is important as it builds trust. If a seller DEMANDS only F/F payment and not a US Postal MO more than likely it’s a scammer. Cause you are protected with a Postal MO as it is a federal offense.
