PayPal Friends and Family

I know. Thanks. Thats the deal it is just fees or no fees and who pays for them. It’s why the feedback system here is important as it builds trust. If a seller DEMANDS only F/F payment and not a US Postal MO more than likely it’s a scammer. Cause you are protected with a Postal MO as it is a federal offense.
Makes sense. For this site I wouldn’t think scamming would be a problem that couldn’t easily be identified. If a member just joined and has a post count of 1 that should be a red flag. If a member is on here all the time and participating in conversations, I would tend to believe them to be trustworthy.

Do you have to pay for that service? I’m not a seller on eBay so I’m not familiar.
Well of course you have to pay to ship... but there's no "service fee" on Netparcel,
even though it's highly discounted. For example I shipped two complete taper axle hubsand brake assemblies, 61 pounds, to New Mexico for 50 bucks via UPS. Regular rate was almost a $300.

Not sure how you jumped to ebay here...

That’s a GREAT deal especially coming from the North!

Your in CANADA.
Netparcel is Canadian.
Here in the USA use Pirate Ship, as a discounted shipping agent.

Never under estimate scammers and sadly Liberty Mopar’s comes to mind as he became a scammer and was a regular here… I sold a bunch of stuff over the winter to some new members here via the phone. Always ended up having an hour long conversation shooting the **** about cars!!

Also got scammed by Hornady website advertised on facebook also noticed there is a CCI ad that looks real, look for strange spelling of website name in link. Filed complaint with PP with website links and official looking receipt and was able to get my money back. They waited a few days to get money, and I noticed later an individual and not the company received money.

So I was lucky as it was obvious it was a scam. So using the goods and services insurance especially for bigger ticket items might be worth it.

I just looked up Pirate Ship. I never knew about that. All these years I’ve been missing out. I’m gonna sign up.:thankyou:

I ask for friends and family. I will take a check, but there is a huge delay in getting a check, cashing and waiting to clear, (if the buyer isn't well known on here), and then mailing.
Friends and family does not protect buyer. Commerce does not protect seller. They can complain and get their money back.
I would like to sell more, and I try to keep prices down. Selling on ebay is an automatic cost of 16% plus 16% on shipping fee. I take that into account when I price stuff for less here.
2025, things changed. Wait till you get your 1099 for sales using P P commerce.
Just like ebay. That will kill things.
So yes, I use friends and family. Or a check.

I don’t mind paying extra for goods and services because PayPal is a business and the fact that they make it easier for me to quickly buy stuff I don’t need. If they went away it’s a hassle for me.

If you are buying parts you should use Goods and Services. There is some fraud protection there. There is also a fee.
Legally, using Friends and Family for parts may be fraud. It is for sure against Pay Pal's rules and guidelines.

I almost exclusively request and pay F&F, I vet my sellers to me pretty well before dealing. Used it for yeeeeeears, so far so good.

I’ve paid both ways and PayPal gets there money both ways. The buyer pays a fee for friends and family. You may as well pay the full price for the insurance too.

Buyer pays a fee on F/F ONLY if they don't have the cash in the PP account as I had a guy complain once he got the fee on his end when he paid through credit card.

please correct me, if i am wrong, but i checked pirate ship and the heaviest weight i saw that you could ship was 20 lbs. the brake kits that i sell and ship is approx 22-26 lbs.
