Peanut Farmer Down...

There have been so many I have lived through in my 60 years on this planet. None have ever come to fruition.

I have softened my views over the years. He did a lot of good and at least won’t be rated ‘last’ anymore.

No softening here. Auto APR’s in 1980 near 20 Percent! If you lived it, you have not forgotten.
Then the energy scares. Barely surviving. Only reason he is not THE worst is he just got nosed-out by Sleepy.

"We need to have a realization that we’ve got about 35 years worth of oil left in the whole world. We’re gonna run out of oil." — Jimmy Carter, U.S. president

Carter made that prediction in 1976 when he was running for president. 35 years came and went in 2011. And the world is not beginning to run out of oil. Another climate/energy scare put to rest.
Someone please tell me when the earth stopped making oil?

Can't say I'm saddened by the news...
Because I'm not at all... :usflag:

House loan 1st 18 y/o, Fall of 1977, $33k loan I had close to a 850 credit rating,
one of mine 14% :jackoff: on a 15 year mortgage :realcrazy:
under his 'weak f-ck' BS economics/& foreign policies

I didn't vote for him, I wasn't old enough, in 1976
& in the reelection cycle, in 1980 I voted for his rival
Ronald Reagan, probably if one of or 'if not the best President' of the 20th century
seems a lot like history is repeating itself, this year... :usflag:

Indeed. The dreaded triple-double of double digit inflation, interest rates and unemployment.
The dude that ran on his "record" of fiscal responsibility in GA turned out to be pretty clueless about
it at the federal level - and refused to consider changing course once it was evident his way wasn't
the way at all.
Gas lines, shortages of heating oil and such....Iran hostages, including clueless (and some say, sabotaged)
rescue efforts in the desert.
Dude was a straight-up socialist, unapologetically. A lot of working class folks suffered needlessly and it took
years to right the ship.

So...worst ever? Certainly top 5 for me.

Wow... sorry I even bothered to post if guys can't just say RIP and move on. Not sure he can be totally blamed, we had 14+ percent mortgage rates here in that time frame as well, can't remember who was miking our country at the time.

Pierre Trudeau, father of the current PM... :canada:
Wonder why ?
he sucked *** too, just like his son does right now...

Your countries history is repeating itself again too :poke:

We went through Plains, GA on a family trip one summer in the late '70s while Carter was president. We stopped at brother Billy's gas station. I remember there were a few good 'ole boys sitting out front. And there was a sign of some sort - I think it said Billy Carter's Gas Station or something like that - hanging above the door by one fastener in the upper corner. Just hanging there ready to let loose and fall completely off.
Of course, no mention of Billy would be complete without remembering Billy Beer. Billy sure got some mileage out of his famous brother's name.

51st State. Maybe soon.
I'd much rather see this 1st
State of Jefferson, Conservative NE Calif. splitting off, new state 51st
the county Tuolumne Co. I live in, is the furthest point south
Just fine with me... ]
we'd get 2 more Conservative Sen.'s & a Govn. too
we'd have a majority Conservative state senate & state legislature here too
:usflag:

State California N.Cal state of Jefferson.jpg

it has a much chance prior, as Canada does as becoming the 51st
I'm still hoping :praying:
