I have a 69 Satelite that was already switched over to power disc brakes up front by previous owner before I got it.It has all new brakes front and rear, everything except not to sure about the booster. Now that I have everything else done we bled the system and have a great pedal with car NOT running,as soon as we start the car the brake pedal goes to floor. My question is does the brake booster have to be for disc brakes or is it the same for disc or drum front brakes? I figure its the booster causing the problem but dont know if its bad or not the right one for the system. Thanks alot for any help I can get.

you probably got air in the system man. i tell you mopars are a pita getting the air out. hell i worked on my charger for 3 months straights getting the air out. i believe how i finally did it was open the front two bleeder valves at the same time and bleed bleed bleed. then the back at the same time. bleed bleed bleed. i hate getting air out of mopar lines. they were made to run not to stop :headbang:

With the car running and you push the pedal down, fast or slow does the engine rpm change, cause it to stumble etc....? Sounds like the diaphram in the booster has gone bad

I would also like previously said to bleed again. But invest in a power, reverse bleeder. those kits are amazing

We just went through restoring a 69 Charger. Start by adjusting the rear brakes to scraping, hit brakes, adjust more. If good hard, high pedal with engine off, that takes care of that.

Normally, on those old cars, the power will drop the pedal halfway down, and not make you feel comfortable. That is what they do. With the pedal mashed, can you slip the toes on your other foot between the pedal and the floor? Normal.

Just like that too touchy power steering...
