I'm replacing the all rubber fuel line from the mechanical fuel pump to the 4 barrel on my 440. I would greatly appreciate if any of you gents/ladies would post a photo or two in reply to my dilemma. Specifically, I need to see how a hard line looks and where to place the stock fuel filter.

Thanks FBBO

Pump to Carb Fuel Line, 383-440.jpg

It can really only go one way, you'll have the short "u" shaped steel line coming off your fuel pump. then a short length of rubber to your fuel filter, then another short piece of rubber between the filter and the long roughly "L" shaped piece of tubing which fastens to the carb. The filter ends up in a vertical position down near the fuel pump. I can get you a photo of mine later today.

Thanks for the quick response M&M.

Thanks for the reply. I would appreciate a photo if it's not too much trouble.

Sorry for the picture quality. Not the best camera or photogragher for that matter. Here's the steel line off the carb, DSCN4179.jpg the line goes under the spark plug wires off the dist.DSCN4180.jpgit then turns down inboard of the alternator mounting bolt and spacerDSCN4181.jpgThis shows the filter with a short piece of rubber fuel line going strait up to connect to the steel line.DSCN4177.jpg and the pump to filter steel piece with a short length of rubber line to connect the steel to the filterDSCN4174.jpg
Hope this helps.

Wow 1970GTX, that's exactly what I was hoping for! So, you have a rubber line between the hard line coming from tank to pump?

What pump are you using?

Thanks again.
