Picked up a Second Project!

The 440 will bolt to the 727, no problem. If the cranks between the two are different, as one being a cast crank and the other being a forged crank, you'll have to have the correct flywheel to match the crank. (Internally balanced forged crank, externally balanced cast crank.)
^^^^^^The correct torque converter i believe is what he means.

Thank you I appreciate it!! I'll be switching them out tomorrow, hopefully there aren't any issues!

Started pulling the 383, I just had a question about the engine detaching from the transmission. I unbolted the bell housing to the engine along with everything else that was connected to the motor. The engine won't come apart from the transmission just wondering what else I have to do to separate the two?

STOP !@! You have to unbolt the torque converter from the flex plate, or you'll make a real mess of things!

Great looking project....good luck with the repairs...and keep us posted.

Don’t know how I missed thread, great car.

Good evening, I removed the 383 and it appears to be a 1965 engine. I have now pulled my other Mopar's engine out and have decided to use that in place of the 383. It's an original 440 from 1969 not numbers matching to the R/T Coronet. I was just going to do the tune up and throw it in but now i feel that I need to do the full rebuild on that and the 383. Pictures will follow soon.

Also my plans for the car is to keep her how she sits and just drive her until I have to swap all the guts out. I am still trying to find a wider front wheel too.

Sooo I’ve been working on the Charger and I got the 440 in.

I went with a Pertronix distributor and tested the electronic ignition system and found that I was getting no power to the Coil. When I unplugged the control unit connection I found a lot of oxidation. So I’m going to replace that and hopefully it’ll fire up. Any recommendations on a replacement unit for that orange box?
