So, this isnt a b body ??, but my 84 ram prospector. The base plate for the distributor pickup coil...I've removed the 2 screws that hold it in place on the outside of the dist, but it wont come out. I havent removed the vacuum as of yet. Is there something under the base plate that's holding it?
Again, not a b body( but just another of my mopars :) ). I'm sure the brain trust here will prove invaluable as always. Thanks, paul.

The arm for the vacuum advance is in a hole in the plate from underneath, push the pin down through the plate.

Yes the vacuum can comes off too. You did pull the reluctor wheel as well, right?

Yeah, that wasnt as difficult as anticipated. I guess I shouldnt be so opposed to pulling the dist, as some things I've read insisted, but I fear the timing issues, etc., involved with doing that. Thanks for the response. I'm thinking that is all that's holding it on.
