as some of you know i posted last week "a bad test drive". well, i pulled the broken tranny out & took pics! I have an empty case i need to clean plus two other complete tranny incase there is more broken on the inside...GAWD I HOPE NOT! the driveshaft is @ the shop being checked out. hope fully in a couple of days i'll be back in business.

I invite anyone who wants to post pics of their broken parts to join this thread.

short version; lost a ujoint cap somehow...got about 1.5 miles on it, maybe...
 
Louis, Congrats for getting back on the project.....I`m sure it will go well.
 
An overrunnin clutch will keep this from happening....I put one in my tranny...

update:
when i started to take the tailshaft housing apart i found alot more damage. & I got to thinking about all the stuff thats been weird with this trannylike how it jumped into reverse by itself while i was breaking in the cam...& how it felt like it was try'n to be in 2 gears at once when it gernaded. Another tranny guy looked at the pics i posted here & said hes seen this damage b4 when the car is moving forward & slammed into reverse or when the the reverse clutch is put in backward or the low/reverse band is not set right...

anyone else had something similar?

i've been having a hard time swallowing that a ujoint cap coming loose at low speed did this damge but...
