How long did it take you to balance those 2x2s and keep the hood from falling off?

Not long at all. I drilled the holes in the 2x2's just a little larger than the hood pin studs so the wood fits's snug down onto those pin studs. Good and sturdy! I then secure the hood to the 2x2's by using 4 inch wood lag screws and large flat washers. Works really well even on windy days. My low-buck 6 BBL hood props!
