Anyone have tracings for a pistol grip shifter or have a shifter they could trace the stalk to allow some one to fabricate one in the same shape? A friend needs to make a customized for his build.

Thanks
Jim

Don't mean to be insensitive, but why not just buy one from Brewers, or a stick from Hurst?
(It's quite possible I don't realize how difficult this is. I made my own pistol grips for my auto shifters.)

My friend is a metal fabricator and this is for his 55 Chevy wagon build. He need to make it custom to work with a T5 and his interior so the bends need to be a bit different but keeping the basic pistol grip look and feel. I’m talking about the metal part not the grip itself.

Undestood. I have "modified" a couple shifters in my cars. Both were custom shifters (one a Hurst for a T5) that the sticks were too short to suit me.
I had a Hurst in my 57 Chevy for a Muncie that cleared my bench seat.Apparently that stick is still available. Maybe he could copy the shape, and alter it to work with a T5 shifter.
I've seen it pictured in another thread recently, either here or a-bodies, but I don't remember where i saw it. Basically mine was a stub to fit in the mechanism, then straight forward to the dash for 4 inches or so, then it curved up over the bench seat. In second and fourth, the stick was sitting above the front edge of the seat, (and the seat was pretty far back, I'm 6'3".)
5388620 is the Hurst # for the stick i had. See, shifty doctor for a drawing.

And Happy Belated Birthday!

A few dimensions in this post for 70 b body pistol grip. There were other pistol grips for e body, etc, that were different (shorter) dimensions.
