Oak =1290 and cedar =900 on the hardness chart. So yea it's softer. It's a shifter handle not a wagon wheel. I think it would be ok. ?I think you're a craftsman!

A guy at work turned me on to Bubinga. I made a set of grips for a pistol out of some he gave me (a 357 S&W)
