Pistons, compression ratio and balancing stock stroke 440

The added weight of 6 Pak rods may not be a big deal. I didn't use them in my bracket racing days. LY seemed OK. The engine builder just really needs to be careful on the balance. Camshaft selection is a mystical experience. I've run many over the years, flat tappet, rollers, mushroom. My mushroom cam made the most consistent power. I doubt many people would agree.
 
I've had several trucks with headers...both small and big block. Do you have any headers laying around that were meant for a car? If so, give em a try because they might surprise you. Had a right side header that had holes in it and had one for an A body small block that fit with very slight notching of the upper part of the frame on a 79 1 ton. A buddy told me he had a truck with car headers on both side but can't remember if it was a big or a small block.
 
Thanks cranky I'll have to check into it. Otherwise I may look into the short block huggers. With this thing being 4 wheel drive I may be out of luck.
