A few of U know me personally, others just by my occ post. Mom has battled cancer for over 4 yrs. She will be 83 in Aug God willing. She no longer can tolerate Chemo since June 2011. Palliative care is in 2 words is "comfort care"
the letter below is from my co worker/friend/and mom's Palliative Dr. Michal Harrington. Please vote and help us improve the quality of care. Mom may never actually live to see any programs develop from this but I am sure most of us have all been "Touched by Cancer"

I feel for you... I wish your mother the best of health, I had to deal with my Granddad & Grammy, both died from forms of cancer, then latter my Mothers Hospice care {great organization}, my mother died way too young, from MS complications... I'm sure I will be the person dealing with both my step father & my Pops final time too, I have 5 sisters that are busy with their own families... Your a good son...

Just voted,I lost my Mom to lung cancer in 1971 ,35 YO never smoked, and my Dad in 1991, lung cancer also, 62YO, lifetime smoker. My stepmom passed in 2009,72YO, same thing, longtime smoker. Best wishes to you and your Mom, good luck with your selection for funding.
