Hello

Could anyone confirm factory spark plug wires color for 74 Roadrunner 400?

I like the Mopar orange but was wondering what 74 came with originally?

Starting in 1972 the 400 engine got Electronic Ignition and Orange wires, your 74 will have the same.

PN 3744973 I think superseded to 3838000 shows orange wires ( there is a set on ebay right now ).
I got a NOS set of these just with one purpouse, get them measured to request same lenght to custom wires set ( firecore250 ). Because these wires are longer on 73 and lates big blocks than earliers. Once these were made, installed on my car ( also 400 ) and fit perfect on stock locations and brackets ( just enlarging a bit the brackets for 8 mm, stock are 7 mm ).

I'm pretty sure have these lenghts saved somewhere, on an email to custom wire sets. If you want though

Thank you so much Nacho-RT74 (Your mailbox is full so posted here)

This will save me a headache.

When I first bought this car I had ordered some big block mopar orange wires and they were definitely to short #7 and 8 especially. I can see why from your 55-3/4 and 56-1/2" measurements.

Again I thank you. I'll definitely order per your above.

Thanks Runner 74

74 wires are Orange. The original # Nacho posted is correct, supersedes to 4339405. What is listed in the older catalog if you have seen an older one is incorrect. The wires are too short, I know I tried them on my 73 - 400.
I contacted Mopar Performance and they said that for a 1972 or later, use OEM Mopar 4339405. Available at your dealer and the price is quite reasonable.
Or MoparPartsAmerica.com for $59.59 if your dealer won't order them.

or Roseville ... but be SURE you get the correct ones, not the ones listed on their website.
