Can the rubber seal on a pop out window be replaced without taking the frame work apart? These windows fit terrible, no matter what I do to try and seal them. Maybe the orginal seals have shrunken. What a poor design. My car has orginal 1/4's.
This inserted, '69 Plymouth Road Runner, 2 door coupe.

Dodge and Plymouth Pop out 1/4 windows are different fyi

I know that DMT has the V looking seal. My question is, do I have to take the pop out frame apart to replace it?
Yes, they are the original windows and rubber, to the best of my knowledge. They look to have been out before for painting. The gaps below the drip rail, top of window seal and bottom seal of window to the 1/4 panel are terrible. That's what caught my eye and the reason I got into this can of worms. Do not want to use regular hardware store foam to fill gaps, it holds or wicks water. Too large of a gap to use black rope caulk seal.

I just went back into DMT's website, seems that I always have trouble finding stuff in that site for some reason. Didn't know that they offer a whole kit, not just the rubber seal. Also didn't know that Dodge and Plymouth were different.

I will check the part number at the rear chrome end of the frame to confirm that it is the Plymouth frame. This car was on the dragstrip for a long time? Who knows.
Sorry, just discouraged over this .
Thanks guys
Merry Christmas!

Okay, finally found Dadsbee's thread on doing this. Will order the DMT kit.

No, I did order the Plymouth! Will see about trying to replace the rubber seal with out taking the frame apart. If that doesn't work out, going to have to take a look at what size pop rivets that I have left from building the plane. Otherwise, hardware store.

Figured out how to better seal the bottom to 1/4 panel. Bent the 1/4 flange in some and got it straight, but not at the rear where it is reinforced, that needs to be out some. Got a thin piece of flat non dense rubber from Steele rubber products and attached that to the 1/4 flange. It's sealed to the back, will get creative back there. I shouldn't worry about it, cars never going to intentionally get wet anyway.
Thank you

Merry Christmas!
