Possible scam on FBBO this morning

I have a wanted ad here. This morning I got a private conversation message from a brand new member saying he knew a guy that had one and gave me the email address. I contacted the guy and he sent me 4 photos and gave me a price that anybody looking for one would easily pay. This has all the classic signs of a scam. So now I go back to the conversation and it's been deleted. So I guess it's a scam.

It should still show the user with their name striked out, or did you delete it? the admins may be able to pull it back up @toolmanmike?

I deleted one this morning. It was kevinmatt27. He had posted on 4 different threads. Only 1 was reported. If you get a suspicious PM, report it. We can't get rid of scammers unless you do.

That is the classic style of text you will get from a scammer on here saying they 'know a guy who has the exact part you are looking for'

Scammer text 101. We have posted many warnings about this activity ....difficult to stop completely, but we do catch most before you guys see them.

same thing happened to me also, same guy as shown above and gave me this contact email for the "last 1 he had ". he referenced my WTB thread for a Modified max intake..

A friend and I were approached with a VERY similar posting, including a couple pickups and lots of other attractive stuff at a-little-too-good prices.
Started to stink when they wanted down payment before we could see anything besides pictures, and couldn't get a location we could lay hands on the merch.
Advanced scam story. Does that make it scam 102, or 202?
