I was cleaning up a pile of parts that I have today. One was a late-model 440 balancer. As I cleaned the nearly 40 years of grime off of it, I noticed that some of the rubber isolator ring is torn. To be specific, the ring is intact all the way around, and it's still quite solid, but a 3" section of the 'edge' of this ring is missing and flush with the hub and outer ring.

My question is; Is this thing worth keeping around, or should I toss it in the scrap pile?

Thanks.

I've used older ones like that before with no issues. Especially doing correct resto's. As long as it hasn't spun , it should be ok. Then, of course there is the intended use of the engine. Again, if its only a street car , it should be fine

Thanks!

I have others, I just didn't know if it was worth sticking up on the shelf, or send it to the landfill.
