That reminds me, a local guy (Pedro) was supposed to take me out with his foot operated gold sluice that works by blowing air over the "ore". Never have taken him up on the invitation.

I was there in 72 when Secretariat raced. My friends family worked at the track and we would go up there for the summers. Beautiful area.

About an hour from where we live. Mt Rainier National Park, from the “backside” (eastern). Photos don’t do the enormity of it justice. When driving from the east, you wind around on the road, then suddenly - boom! (Shout out to Madden) there it is...

The glaciers are year round.
