Guilty of what you MIGHT do!One of the few charges where you're guilty until proven innocent
It's beyond disappointing.That is a disappointment.
I learned that depressing statistic during the first management training course I attended after coming off the truck in 1987. Presenter emphasized the dangers of written communication with that factor in place. I wrote a weekly safety newsletter as part of my corporate job, put a lot of work into making it easy to read, without talking down to anyone. Getting that accomplished, 52 weeks a year, for seven years, was one of the hardest things I did during 42 years in the trucking business.Over half of American adults (54%) read below a sixth-grade level.
You and me both, sir. I'm at 45 years in trucking one way or another. After 20 years behind the wheel, I became a regional safety manager. One of the duties was the same kind of weekly safety recap and message. It's tough to come up with something timely and interesting over the course of 15 years. I figured out after a while that it all could be boiled down into one short sentence. Don't get hurt, and don't crash the truck.I wrote a weekly safety newsletter as part of my corporate job, put a lot of work into making it easy to read, without talking down to anyone. In Asia McDonalds sells corn pies, no apple available. In the Philippines, McDonald's sells spaghetti.
...only 54% ???Over half of American adults (54%) read below a sixth-grade level.
It also, before the advent of air conditioning, allowed for cooler cabins on those trips to India and back. The word "Posh" was an acronym for "Port Out, Starboard Home" cabin bookings on ships. These particular north south routes were popular with vacationing passengers and allowed them to sleep later since the rising sun was on the opposite side of the ship.
