Trying to upgrade the brand new drum brakes the previous owner put on my '68 Super Bee. And my eyes are glazing over from the all the recommended solutions I am getting. Can I not just install a PB booster and new master cylinder without converting to front disc brakes? Any info would be appreciated. Thank you.

Yes. Most cars like yours came with factory 4 drum power brakes.

If you are able to find a power brake set-up out of a donor car, make sure you get the pedal and under-dash linkage, too.

I converted my disc brake GTX to PB keeping the drums. Ditto on needing the linkage and a PB firewall reinforcing plate. The brake lines to the MC will stretch to fit but new ones is probably a little cleaner.

Make sure that the Power Brake booster you choose can be rebuilt with available parts! some boosters
are original but no parts are out there. No need for disc brakes if you don't need them.

The pedals are the same between manual brakes and power brakes, but the linkage is different. The linkage for power brakes puts the pedal a few inches closer to the floorboard then the manual. Ask me how I know.

How do you know, Mike?
As mentioned in the link. When I changed to PB 30+ years ago, I didn't know the pedal should be lower to the floorboard until I my knees went south. Both of my knees are fixed straight. The only way for me to drive it safely was to lower the pedal. Come to find out when I did the swap 30+ years ago, I never changed the linkage. I believe it was @fesser that sent me the correct linkage. Now the pedal is lower and I can now safely drive it.
