Here’s a question for 65 Coronet owners that have done a manual to power brake conversion. All the setups out there use the goofy brackets to alter the linkage and I suppose multiply the braking power. But it also raises the booster and master cylinder quite a bit. I have tried 2 units in mine and one was 9” booster and the other was a 8” unit. Neither would allow the hood to close. Keep in mind that the 65 Coronet has a rather flat hood. Can anyone share their experience in doing theirs?

Hello

I have a pirate jack set up in my 65 and clears the hood
I admit it looks a bit goofy but it works just fine
My pushrod goes in the top hole and the brake switch lines up with a little fiddling

To Sixpactogo:
I’m pretty sure that setup is for cars that originally came with power brakes. Mine did not.

If so, why would they include the bell crank linkage and firewall plate? If you already had power brakes you would not need those two items.
