One of the few modifications I'd like to do is finish the brakes upgrade .
My father in law converted the front drums to disc and replaced the intake manifold with a Weind High rise to accommodate a Holley 4 barrel.
I'm under the impression I need at least a 1/2" npt port in the manifold to provide a source of vacuum for the brake booster .
This intake has no such port . What are my options ?
Thanks

High rise do you mean tunnel ram or a dual plane? What's the rest of the engine combo? I would check engine vacuum to see if there's enough for the power booster to be effective.

If you can get a spacer under the carb without causing filter unit to hood issues, say no more than 1" on the spacer, it might help you. You can drill and tap the spacer for a fitting or epoxy a 3/8" diameter tube into the drilled hole. From there, hook up a hose to the booster. Make damn sure that the hose you use is rated for being on a brake booster. 11/32" is the usual size. PB hose has extra reinforcement in it to keep it from collapsing shut at max vacuum. Fuel line will collapse. But like 6872n73 mentioned, if you don't have enough vacuum, say at least 12" at idle in gear if auto trans, it will mean you are in the market for a vacuum pump to run the booster.

I’m pretty much at the limit for clearance with the hood . Is there a brand for an electric powered vacuum pump I should be considering ? A preferred vendor ? Thank you in advance
