Power bulge hood inserts being repopped by Herb's Parts

Comes WITH gaskets. Herb's retuned the $25. image.jpg

Before and after. Have help if possible when installing to put pressure on the trim when attaching the speed nuts. 3/8 deep socket. If you have insulation, you will have to deal with it. Lay a towel over the motor to catch dropped speed nuts. Can't believe the POS asshole Chevy scum of the earth who painted my car actually removed them when changing the color back to the correct Y2 from Hemi Orange! (Shelly's Auto Body, Danielsville, image.jpgimage.jpgPa).

Glad I got the brushed instead of chrome. They are more in keeping with the textured grill trim and won't glare like the over-polished wiper arms. The repros don't have the defined threads like the OEM's but it does not seem to matter. I am pleased with the purchase. Long time coming.

Looks nice. I have to install mine this week. How hard is it to cut the nuts onto the plain posts?

Use the towel for sure to find dropped stuff. I put them in the socket and spun them. Seemed to be easy enough. Would really be good to have help. Take your time and have a flashlight. Use fender cover etc. Watch for the forehead impaler hood catch.

Chrome looks nice, brushed is closer to the original look if you go that route. I saw the two sets at Carlisle last weekend and although very, very nice, the brushed and the chrome versions are not totally correct. I have a set of NOS on my car and a real nice set I took off and the finish is chrome plated but the metal in the plated area is textured. The painted area is flat black lacquer on a smooth surface. Just my observations I thought Id share.....

My original ones have the small pits, but I thought it was due to their age and being 'pitted'.

I do not think I ever said 'badass' before, but that Coronet deserves that moniker.
