Hey All,

Just a quick question. It kinda bugs me that the power bulge trim on my 68 Coronet is in a satin style chrome finish and I have been toying with the idea of getting them re-chromed in a standard mirror finish chrome.

Has anyone done this? Does anyone have a pic?

OR is this a stupid idea because it will catch the sun while driving and blind me etc?

Just looking for some thoughts / opinions.

Cheers!

I had mine chromed back in 1987 it looked way better than the factory frosted look. And the chrome never blinded me during driving.

Perfect! Thanks for that, I assumed it'd be fine but thought ma mopar must if done the frosting for a reason.

Don't really have one up to date. She's all in pieces still, but here's an older shot of it when it getting painted.

Been thinking I need to start a members ride thread.

Hell to the Yes !!!!!!!!!!!!!

And put some before shots up brother. That's gonna be bad-assery-ing all over the place!

Cheers guys, I've been finding it hard to find free time on the computer to start a thread but I need to as I keep getting alot of little questions that I need help with that probably don't warrant a full thread for...

Nah no red stripe for me, got something in mind but I'll keep it close to my chest until I get it done ;) Hoping to finish it this year but the more I get into the fiddly stuff the more I realise that its probably gonna take me alot longer then that. Simply jut through finding out the correct way to do things and where things go. Would be nice to be doing this in the states with locals that have grown up with the cars.

The hockey sticks on my 1969 R/T are chrome with satin black. I wonder if 68 was satin and 69 was chrome??? Something to ponder if you are going the restored look or resto-mod.

Mine on the 69 Coronet look to be pitted chrome. I saw a 68 recently with satin and thought that it was painted-over chrome. The satin looks good and I was gonna go that way to clean it up and save money.

Interesting! I thought they were all that satin chrome...

I'm not going for 100% original, looking for more of a 'Day 2' look with some hidden updates. I think on it.

Thanks for the info!
