So I replaced my pitman shaft seal. It is still leaking even more than before. Is a full seal rebuild the fix? I cannot find any reman gearboxs anywhere in the US unless I wanna pay $600 which is not gonna happen.

Thats where I bought me seal kit. Not one part store in all usa that a reman one.rockauto is where I got mine
U have part number because the one i seen on there doesn’t even look like the original one I have.Just looked at autozone and it says in stock $106
I didn’t see any I could be wrong. What do u recommend? Clean up shaft with sand paper?Probably not, can you see any pitting on the shaft from rust? That’ll eat up a new seal pretty quick.
OK now I get it so by turning the steering wheel it made the shaft Spin and tear the seals correct? Can’t hurt- 200+ grit.
I put bearing grease on them. Not if you lubed them on install. More like the shaft is 80grit ( from rust) working on seal.
