Curious what others think of the new prison grey trend showing up on cars and trucks these days? Ford calls it Avalanche, Hyundai calls it Spirit Grey and they also have one that they call a silver but its just a darker version also seen Honda's in similar color. I liked it the first time I saw a car in this shade but now that I am seeing more and more cars in this color I am torn. It reminds me of urban grey they use on some firearms. Maybe Ford will build a special NRA edition Raptor with a gun rack and a matching urban Grey AR.

Bland colors on bland vehicles, don't get no worse then that! The world needs more pastels and neon's, you know? Something that stands out!

IIRC Mopar calls it Battleship Gray.

I like it.

First saw it on a hyundai veloster.

Gave it a WWII German experimental weapon look.

Not really new...light gray without any metallic or pearl was an option on 70's Thunderbirds and 80's Lincolns. I think it was called 'Dove Gray' back then. I found it about as exciting as beige.

I have no problem with gray, my absolute favorite color scheme is the salmon and gray on 55 chevys. But put some character in it, some metallic, pearl , stripes, SOMETHING!
( and yes, I have seen very similar color combos on mopar and Ford products)

Thats the first car I saw it on as well. Thought it looked good but as more and more pop up its loosing its luster.

Tremclad Grey, the colour of freshly installed gas pipe....

I don't get it, however, people are buying them.

May be a 50 shades of grey thing....

It's not for Mopars. They're not meant to blend in. They have too much attitude for grey.

A couple of my "Bud's" from Edwards aFB have those
I don't CARE what you call it...
It's a BAD *** truck Aarons Air!
BAD A$$
And yes, I live in the Mojave desert....

Ski, i hope i didn't create a misunderstanding with the comment i made about the golf cart pic you posted. The background looked beautiful. Looks like a beautiful place to live. I was making light of the fact that its nicer than Huber. I wasn't disputing anything. As for color choices, everyone has an opinion. Cool ?

ON a Jeep Wrangler maybe
it get broken up with an accent color like black

I like the silvers, turquoise, greens, blues, oranges or metallic
'a whole lot better'

just not my color, to each their own

it'd be boring *** world if everyone liked the same color

I recently saw some new Mopars in Destroyer Grey...a Charger, a 300, a Challenger, and a Jeep. I don't like that "color" and it looks particularly putrid on large vehicles...IMHO. One manufacturer does "something" and the rest follow suit just like sheep jumping off of a cliff.

I would venture a guess that 9 vehicles out of ten sold these days are either white , grey, silver, black or a variant. Is every one color blind? It seems very few have taste these days. Most competitors cars are similar in shape from a distance as well. Its like a housing development where every house is the same or similar shape and all in neutral hues of beige or cream. Makes me want to puke! I think it may be because since there are so many bad drivers, anyone witnessing one of these dummies doing something wrong, without a plate number, they'd never get caught! Don't get me wrong, I like all colors including the "shades of gray". They too were missing for years from the choice spectrum. But thank God the Mopar people brought back some style and bright, bite you in the ***, color! It says, I ain't afraid to stand out! :moparsmiley:
