I'm starting from Scratch on this one so it'll actually come out a lot better the second time around....

We have a lot of work to do, and we'll make some progress over the coming Winter months...

Looks good. Keep us up to date on the progress. I have had several 68 thru 70 chargers. The 68 is the dream car prostreeted with a 572 Hemi.

Well just a couple of Updates...

I've spent the last couple of months deciding on a few details and some parts have started to arrive....

My New 15x14 Cragar S/S rims have arrived, these look Cool and they are priced well with in my budget at $200.00 each...

I've decided to use a set of the New Sportsman S/R radial in the 31x18:00-15
size.

Checker Racing has the Rear Frame I've decided to use, but I'm still using a Leaf Spring suspension to cut costs......

Jegs High Performance supplied the 4 point Roll Bar kit for $250.00 shipped, this will be installed with a set of Pro Street Side bars to help tie the Charger together and improve the Chargers Torsional strength.

I've also got a couple more Chassis mods lined up as well......

actual work should kick off after the New Year begins...

those are some big wheels lol. Looking good make sure you keep us updated, I think it'll look awesome when it's done. What kind of paint scheme are you thinking on doing?

What are planning to turn those "Big Old" tires over with ?

Current plan calls for a Magnum Small Block 5.2 or 5.9, possibly a stroker kit, and a TCI A727 Torqueflite, with a narrowed 8 3/4 Rear with 4.56's

I'm going with a Black finish from Martin-Senour, with a Graphics package by
Scott Sullivan, this will be after a Full re-skin with AMD Sheetmetal.

Black looks GREAT on Chargers,

However I was very surprised to hear that you had plans to put a small block in it ! :edgy: ......... If it were mine I would have to Big Block or Hemi this thing.

This Body I picked up in Nebraska was originally a low option 318 Charger, and I'm partial to Small Blocks, and I really like the 5.9 Magnum in my Dakota R/T, SO since my first one had a MP 380 Horse Magnum Crate that Ran Great,
I'm going to install another in Charger......

I also like the Driveability these engines have, and I want to drive it to Carlisle when it's Ready!

you could always do a late model Hemi

I did look at that option as well, but the parts needed to swap in the Hemi over a Small block cost quite a bit more and I can score a 318 or a 360 and install it old school style for dirt cheap...

Given my budget, and Old school Magnum Small block makes the most sense..

I have a guy right now that wants to work a trade on some spare parts I have for a complete and running 318 Magnum out of a Ram Van......

Ok......... Now I'm really happy as the first of the Chassis specific components for this build have showed up....

Jeg's High Performance has a nice selection of parts for these cars, and I ordered a 4 point Roll Bar kit as a starting point, so once the Rear Frame is welded in and the rear Pass Foot wells are replaced, I'll be able to install the main hoop and Rear struts to help stiffen and reinforce the chassis so when the rear sheetmetal is all peeled off for repairs to the understucture, the whole thing will not flex or move...

The next step after the Frame clip arrives will be leveling the body on jackstands, tack welding in some structural supports, then we can prepare to go to town on the chassis...

I also got word that the 5.2 Magnum V8 I'll be using will be ready for delivery by the end of January, I worked a trade on some spare parts I had laying around and some stuff I don't need that came with the shell...
