So after several months of tweaking and tuning the car, it runs great. Starts easy hot or cold, idles nice, doesn't overheat. Motor is a 512, with dual edelbrock 1407's on a crossram intake. 10.5:1 compression, solid flat tappet cam, auto trans, 3500rpm stall. Ignition is controlled with an MSD digital 7. Timing is currently locked at 36degrees. There is a start retard programmed in for easy starting. The software allows for retard curves to be built in by gear. Does the gear 1 program for the curve also manage the curve for neutral and reverse? Based on how well the car runs currently and how easily it starts, is there any need to program retards?
