Found the key.. I put fuel in the carburetor-it cranked but wouldn’t stay running-when the engine is running it’s moving a fuel pump rod by camshaft pressing the fuel pump lever faster than turning over with no fire to pump fuel so it makes it easier to get the fuel circulating when a gas tank is empty…. No fuel was entering the Quadrajet-it wouldn’t stay running without giving it gas to the carburetor.. So I gave up and unbolted the fuel line from the carburetor and to no surprise the entrance to the carburetor at the fuel line was dry-indicating the fuel pump isn’t doing its job somehow or the tank is empty.. I turned the air compressor on,got an air sprayer and fill the gas tank up with air to see if I can press the gas out of the tank so I can see the lines are cleared with no obstructions and what type of gas I’m dealing with, nothing at all… So I moved down the fuel line chimney to a hose clamp holding the other fuel line to the fuel pump, the other side of the line goes to the gas tank.. I had fuel pumping out and it wasn’t bad fuel but clear fresh fuel.. the fuel pump is bad..
