I purchased the PST disk conversion kit. http://p-s-t.com/i-23162310-front-m...tml#!year=1969||make=DODGE||model=CORONET 500
The instructions state that the calipers are installed on the front of the vehicle side of the spindle. I'm wondering if anyone has installed them rear of the vehicle spindle side.

The reason I ask is because have QA1 lowers and want to keep room for a sway bar, when I figure out what I can use. I was told that I need to run the brakes on the back so I have enough room up front.

I don't see why I can't just swap these to the rear by swapping the mounting plate and caliper from side to side

you will need to switch spindles side to side, then your caliper mounts will be in the rear. I've seen it many times, where the sway bar was in the way for disc brakes and they did it the same way. You will also need longer hoses to calipers

My spindles look to be symmetric. They are drum spindles.

guys up here usally find a 1973-74 Cuda front disc brake setup (which is very hard now in Canada) that was off the car. Including the disc brake spindles, caliper mounts with bolts, shield and bolts ( I don't run the shields myself, hardly drive in the rain and I find that the rotors run cooler without the sheilds) and buy the rest of the parts new at the local auto store. You did not receive new spindles with your setup?

No. It's setup to mount to the drum spindles.

This is why I always try and use original Chrysler parts on my car, Chrysler's engineers were pretty smart back then. I always use pin type calipers over the slider type, it is a better system and they use the bigger type brake pads compared to the sliders small brake pad (bonus) and all the parts are at the local parts store. Did you contact PST to see what they had to say?

I pinged them on here. I will call Monday if I don't get s response. Or I will just do it. I don't see any reason I can't.

Hello,

The caliper in this kit is designed to sit high so you should not have any sway bar clearance issues. But if you need to move them to the rear you can do so.

Thanks
James
