push button and toggle switch install help

Done this years ago and i remember it being easy, and yet i cant for the life of me remember how to do it. basically i have a bad ignition switch or ICM and I had wanted to run a push button to start the car anyway so i figured this is a good time to do it. i have no clue where to begin and feel stupid asking this question. do i run a wire from one side of the push button to the POS side of the starter, and the other wire from the other side of the push button to the negative bat terminal??? as far as running all my acc power on a toggle switch i have no idea where to begin...PLEASE HELP!!! Finally got gas in the car to start for the first time and this bs happened!! ARG!!!! THANK YOU IN ADVANCE

wow, either this is a stupid question or nobody knows how...
all questions ive asked in the past have always been answered in between 5-45min. People yell google, and thats the first thing i looked at and there are conflicting methods so i come here.....

cant answer for the accessory at the key, but you can either wire the push button off the starter relay , which is the yellow starter solenoid wire and the big post , or you can go off the solenoid at the starter and the hot post, or even the hot at the battery. with the key in the on postion it will start , but it will start in any gear

what is this ICM you speak of? and what is it not doing? no power at the key?what are we working on?
