Pushbutton cable adjustment

Always sound advice on here....thanks to all..will keep posted when repaired...

Yes I have been told that by others on here....will contact Joe Suchy if I need cables....thanks

Been doing these for years. Especially if its a racecar. If you really want it dead accurate, pull the pan. As a final check start in R and pull the park lever. Then do the same from 1st. Don't be surprised if the rooster comb doesn't go to dead center on the switch. Make sure the threaded portion of the switch doesn't interfere with the rooster comb from being threaded in to deep. Just make sure that it splits the difference from R to 1st. Then you can check the rear band at the same time.

62sg2, I don't want to hi-jack your thread, but I have a quick question for Doug: I'm building a '63 Dodge 330 Sedan, original /6, PB trans. I have built a '65 slip yoke, cable shift trans to use in it. Will the '63 PB cable work with the '65 trans ? It's all in the car, just haven't made the connections yet, Thanks for any info on this...

No. You need the manual valve and rooster comb from a 62-64 push button valve body. Or swap the entire valve body for a push button unit.

Great info ! I'm sure we'd have been struggling with that on hook up. Any suggestions on a source for these parts ? Thanks for the input Doug

Do you still have the 6 cylinder pushbutton trans?

I have a ‘64 pb tranny but the car it’s a spare for is a console shift which uses the ‘65 valve and rooster comb. I’ll trade you those parts if you dont find them locally.
