does the switch panel go on first, then the lower dash pad, then speedometer or in other order? its been out for five years and I have forgotten?:icon_shaking:
Thanks so much for your wisdom?

Clay, you can put the guages in first or the lower dash pad it doesn't matter but the pad has to be in before the switch panel. I would put the gauges in first as that seemed easier to me.

thanks Eagle one I think that answers my question the pad has to go first before the switch panel much appreciation..CD

No no no...first the switch panel had to go to my yard. Then the dash. Then the rest of the car follows.

I'm am equally confused? I think it's one of those milkshake pop songs or something

I think he's meaning he wants the car...one piece at a time, lol.

Can the whole dash be assembled and then put in the car? Or is it easier to put the frame back in and then all the other pieces onto the frame? I toke mine out by taking it apart then taking the frame out. But I see all these pictures of completely assembled dashs and have wondered if that is how they get put in.

Definitely assemble the dash before putting it in, it makes it way easier. I only wish I wouldn't have forgotten to install my speaker :angryfire: Then you can set the dash on the two lower bolts and put a blanket or something on the transmission hump and set the dash assembly on it while you hook everything up. Once everything is hooked up just rotate the dash up and put all the screws in along the back of the dash.

TIP: I understand that the fasteners at the top are easier to get to with the windshield removed.

I restored my dash with the frame in the car. Gauges 1st, then lower pad, then switch panel, speaker, heater controls, radio, ash tray.

TIP: P some tape or plastic between the lower pad and the switch panel and A/C vent when installing them to prevent scratches to the pad.

Yes, assemble the dash completely including the wiring harness then install as a unit. To install put the end bolts in a few threads so you can hook the ears on each end of the dash then swing the whole thing up to meet the screws by the windshield.
